What Drives Us
Every week the community welcomes Shabbat - on Friday evening and Saturday afternoon. First there is the men's prayer with a minyan and a leading rabbi (chazzan), and then a generous festive meal with Kiddush. Usually around thirty people gather, often more. The kitchen operates at the highest kosher standard (kosher le-mehadrin), so we have everything needed for Shabbat and the holidays.
We celebrate all the Jewish holidays - Rosh Hashanah, Yom Kippur, Sukkot, Chanukah, Purim, Passover, Shavuot and others, and on Chassidic dates we gather for farbrengens. The biggest events of the year are the family camp on Passover and Lag BaOmer. Children are welcome: during Shabbat itself there is a playroom for them, and on the permitted days of the holidays there are programs with entertainers and outings.
